Because I’ve lived a version of the struggle you’re fighting.
I’ve been the guy who couldn’t get his health under control.
In my early 20s, I lost 100 kilos and rebuilt my life from the ground up.
Years later, after opening restaurants, working late nights, and carrying the pressure of leading teams, I slipped again and clawed my way back, losing another 50 kilos as an entrepreneur in the thick of it.
I understand what it feels like to start over.
I understand what it takes to keep going.
I’m also a qualified chef & restaurant owner so I know the hospitality grind in my bones, the double shifts, the fried nervous system, the broken sleep, the “eat whatever’s left on the pass” diet, the stress you don’t even notice until it hits you. I’ve run restaurants for a decade. I know exactly what that lifestyle does to your body and your head.
And I’m a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu, training out of Behan Jiu Jitsu where I am thankful to have the opportunity to coach, with an interest in constraint lead learning/teaching. I choose to spend my free time being choked, twisted, pinned, and humbled. I train with people who work insane schedules, who show up tired and overloaded, because that’s when it matters most.
BJJ taught me discipline, composure under pressure, and how to adapt when you don’t have perfect conditions.
My entire life has been built under load: kitchens, on the mats, entrepreneurship, and long shifts.
Nothing about my story came from balance or perfect timing.
That’s why I’ve built Nothing Spare.
I know how to get strong when you’re exhausted.
I know how to move better when your back is cooked.
I know how to train when your schedule is chaos.
I know how to rebuild your identity when you’ve lost control of your health.
And I know how to create systems that turn inconsistency into momentum.
